Quiescent HSCs were stimulated with transforming growth factor (TGF)-β1 (5 µg/l) for 24 h. Protein expression levels of gp91 <t>phox</t> , p67 phox , <t>p22</t> phox , Rac1, Shh, Smo, and Gli2 were significantly higher than in the control group. Treatment with UA (40 µM) inhibited expression of these proteins. UA and DPI had comparable effects.
