Article Snippet: WT, cacnb1 −/− , aBTX-paralyzed, twitching, and recovered embryos were collected at respective timepoints, homogenized in Trizol with prefilled tube kits using high impact zirconium beads (Benchmark Scientific, D1032-10) using a BeadBug 3 Microtube Homogenizer D1030 (Benchmark Scientific), and RNA was extracted as described previously ( ). cDNA was prepared according to the standard oligo-dT primer protocol using the ProtoScript II First Strand cDNA Synthesis Kit (NEB E6560). cDNA was diluted 1:25 in water and used as template for RT-qPCR using the Luna Universal qPCR master mix (NEB M3003S).
