    Two weeks after the last tamoxifen injection pancreas-specific Zip5 -knockout ( Zip5 Panc KO ) mice were given an I.P. injection of zinc sulfate (12.5 mg zinc/kg body weight) and 24 hr later pancreata were harvested and paraffin sections were prepared and stained for <t>α-amylase</t> using immunohistochemistry. Sections from two different mice are shown. Dark brown deposits in acinar cells indicate positive staining. Black arrowheads demarcate large cytoplasmic vacuoles containing α-amylase. Sections were photographed at 630× magnification. I ; indicates an Islet of Langerhans.

    Two weeks after the last tamoxifen injection pancreas-specific Zip5 -knockout ( Zip5 Panc KO ) mice were given an I.P. injection of zinc sulfate (12.5 mg zinc/kg body weight) and 24 hr later pancreata were harvested and paraffin sections were prepared and stained for <t>α-amylase</t> using immunohistochemistry.
