    <t>MASP-2</t> is higher in TBI than non-TBI human cerebral tissues and its levels are associated with more severe clinical conditions. Single xy plane views with z projection (merge images) and 3D renderings demonstrate MASP-2 in the surroundings of cerebral vessels and in cerebral parenchyma both in early (a) and late (b) contusions. It can be detected near cerebral vessels also in non-TBI (c) cerebral tissues. Images are representative of at least two specimens per group. Scale bars 20 µm, thicks in 3D renderings 10 µm. MBL-mediated MASP-2 deposition (MASP-2 on mannans) showed a tendency toward an increase in TBI specimens compared to non-TBI ones (non-TBI: n = 5, TBI: n = 28, d).
