Western blots of A, B, and C capsids purified by sucrose gradient sedimentation from HSV-1 (KOS)-infected Vero cells are shown. Threefold dilutions of capsids were run in parallel. Replicate Western blots were probed with MAbs directed against VP5 and VP23 (upper panel), MAb MCA406, which recognizes VP21 and VP22a (center panel), and MAb 9-2, directed against VP24 (lower panel).
