Koehler Instrument pseudo-contact shifts (pcss)
Iterative approach for structure refinement using PCS. a Scheme of the protocol used to obtain refined structures in this paper. Panels b and c illustrate the accuracy of computed structures during the iterative cycles. At the end of every cycle the accuracy is determined relative to the target structure A. Data are shown for each of the three input structures, B, C and D as blue circles, red triangles and green crosses, respectively, while the RMSD between all three output structures is depicted by a dashed line with the shaded region indicating the standard deviation. b Accuracy when using similar weights for scaffold and PCS restraints and the conventional protocol for ranking structures. c Accuracy when <t>PCSs</t> are strongly favored by an increased weight, scaffold restraints are introduced by regularization, and structures are ranked by their Q-factors

Indications for the use of the CORUS™ Spinal System family of implants for posterior cervical fusion.

Journal: Journal of Personalized Medicine

Article Title: Clinical Implementation of Tissue-Sparing Posterior Cervical Fusion: Addressing Market Access Challenges

doi: 10.3390/jpm14080837

Figure Lengend Snippet: Indications for the use of the CORUS™ Spinal System family of implants for posterior cervical fusion.

Article Snippet: CORUS Posterior Cervical Stabilization System (PCSS) , CORUS Posterior Cervical Stabilization System (PCSS) is posterior spinal instrumentation with integrated screw fixation intended to provide immobilization and stabilization of spinal segments. CORUS PCSS is placed through a posterior surgical approach in up to 3 consecutive levels of the cervical spine (C3-C7) and achieves bilateral facet fixation by spanning the facet interspace at each level with points of fixation at each end of the construct. CORUS PCSS is intended as an adjunct to posterior cervical fusion (PCF) and is only intended to be used in combination with anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) at the same level(s). CORUS PCSS is indicated for skeletally mature patients with degenerative disc disease (DDD). DDD is defined as radiculopathy and/or myelopathy, neck and/or arm pain of discogenic origin as confirmed by radiographic studies. CORUS PCSS is to be used with autogenous bone and/or allogenic bone graft..

Techniques: Construct

The tissue-sparing posterior cervical fusion procedure involves the implantation of the ( a ) CORUS™ PCSS, an integrated construct comprising a cage and two fixation screws, ( b ) placed bilaterally through a posterior surgical approach, ( c ) spanning the interspace and including additional screw fixation points at each end of the construct to provide trans-facet stabilization.

Article Snippet: In principle, both residual dipolar couplings (RDCs) (Bax et al. ; Tjandra and Bax ) and pseudo-contact shifts (PCSs) (Bertini et al. ; Koehler and Meiler ; Nitsche and Otting ; Otting ) allow to orient position of atoms relative to a common frame, and hence can establish relative orientations of remote units with high reliability.
