<t>EBSD</t> inverse pole figure maps (IPFs), along with generated α-Ti pole figures and IPF’s for the Random (top), Dehoff (middle), and Raster (bottom) scan strategies for 0–4 mm in build height. Clear evidence for columnar growth and lath structure is observed for the Raster specimen. All three scan strategies have similar α-Ti textures to neutron diffraction measurements. A small sharpening of orientations was observed for the Raster scan strategy, but is attributed to sampling statistics. Retained β-Ti can also be observed at the base of the Raster specimen in the red outlined region, due to enrichment with Fe and Cr from the stainless steel build plate. This was also present for the Random and Dehoff scan strategies, but was not captured via EBSD. All maps are colored with respect to the build direction.
