For studies using axitinib (Tocris), a pan-specific inhibitor for all three VEGF receptor tyrosine kinases , mice at 21 days of age were anesthetized using isoflurane (Piramal Group) and injected with axitinib (5 or 10 μg dissolved in 10 μl DMSO; Tocris Inc.) using a 31-gauge insulin syringe (BD Inc.) through the ovarian fat pad into the bursa of the right ovary.
