    Patient-specific computational models. (a) Model framework included brain geometry, conductivity map, and Medtronic 3389 lead position to build FEMs. FEMs were combined with tractography of the hyperdirect pathway (HDP) and motor region of internal capsule (IC), and NEURON was used to determine activation thresholds from multi-compartment axon models. (b-d) Three patient-specific models included the STN (light blue), HDP (dark blue), and IC (green). Activated axons (red) demarcate HDP axons activated at lower thresholds than any IC axons (activation percentage of the HDP is shown in red).
